Dude Still Looks Like a Lady: 'Mrs. Doubtfire' Sequel Is in the Works

If you've been harboring fantasies of Robin Williams in drag for the past two decades, you're in luck. A sequel to Mrs. Doubtfire is in the works. Yes, a sequel to the 1993 movie starring Williams as a man who pretends to be an older woman just to babysit his kids is moving through the system. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Williams and director Chris Columbus are both attached, and Elf screenwriter David Berenbaum is the man behind the script.

I thought the 20-year gap between Dumb and Dumber and its sequel was a long time, but a Mrs. Doubtfire sequel would definitely trump that span. This movie wouldn't come out until 2016 at the earliest.

Would the cast that played Williams' character's family also come back? The mom was played by Sally Field and the three kids were played by Matthew Lawrence, Lisa Jakub and Mara Wilson. Would Wilson come out of retirement for this sequel? I really don't want to see Mrs. Doubtfire working for another family. I'm not quite sure how this movie would work, though ... would his kids have forgotten that Mrs. Doubtfire is really their dad?

I guess as long as Pierce Brosnan is back, things will be OK.
