'Happy Endings' Season 3 to Hit DVD on October 1?

It's a rough time for fans of Happy Endings. While people who love The Big Bang Theory or Two and a Half Men are getting ready to welcome a new season of their favorite (awful) shows, Happy Endings fans find themselves still mourning a loss. Even though ABC canceled Happy Endings (and USA Network got our hopes up but then didn't pick up the show), there's still the feeling that Brad, Jane, Alex, Dave, Penny and Max should be back any day now. Kind of like a phantom leg sort of thing.

Happy Endings fans should still be able to look forward to one final act of fandom — buying Season 3 of the show on DVD. It may be our last farewell to the brilliant sitcom, but those DVDs could bring some closure. Interestingly enough, though, Happy Endings' third season isn't listed as an upcoming DVD on Amazon. A Google search for it only brings up bootleg copies of the show. What's going on here? In a final show of disrespect for Happy Endings, has ABC nixed that last set of DVDs?

Popculturology wanted to get to the bottom of this, so on Tuesday, we contacted ABC Television Studios and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment to figure out what was going on with Season 3 of our dearly departed Happy Endings. Sony Pictures responded, directing us to their press site, which lists an Oct. 1 date for Happy Endings' Season 3 DVD set. There's even box art.

Despite this, we're still wary of this release date. Why hasn't Amazon listed Season 3 yet? The new Boy Meets World complete series set doesn't hit stores until November, and it's been available for pre-order on Amazon for awhile now. It would be a shame if Happy Endings never got a proper Season 3 DVD box set. Popculturology has reached out to Amazon to see if they know what's going on. We'll keep you posted.

  1. There's a Pre-Order page on Amazon now, don't know if it's legit though because there's no artwork.
